Parsi traders who journeyed to China in the 19th century discovered and carried a distinct hand embroidery art form to India. Ashdeen Lilaowala has dedicated a decade to travelling through Iran and China to trace the routes and origins of this craft. Ashdeen believes “it is an amalgam of Parsi, Indian, European and Chinese aesthetics.”
