Zoroastrian Association of Greater New York (ZAGNY) presents a Parsi Gujarati Natak: SASOO NO SUNTAAP.
Produced and acted by the acclaimed Toronto Parsi Drama Group, proceeds will benefit the XVI North American Zarathushti Congress 2012.
In this original comedy we get a glimpse into the lives of Pervin and Rustom, an ordinary Bombay couple with an extraordinary family. Members of the small, tight-knit Parsi community – Persians who settled in India in the last millennium and follow the Zoroastrian religion – the couple has its peculiarities, dysfunctional in-laws, and family secrets – all of which make for an evening filled with laughter. Take a look at the lighter moments of everyday life with Pervin and Rustom, the dominating mother-in-law Naju and her hen-pecked husband Phiroze, Naju’s sister Coomi and brother Jimmy, in a comedy of errors.
Sasoo No Suntaap debuted earlier this year in Toronto to sold-out crowds. The highly acclaimed Toronto Parsi Drama Group will be traveling to the New York area for two very special performances this fall. Performances will be in Parsi-Gujarati. Proceeds of these two performances will go toward the XVI North American Zoroastrian Congress to be held in Rye, NY in August 2012.
