4th World Zoroastrian Youth Congress – Australia – 2007

Dear Friends, Relatives and Co-religionists,

As the days draw closer to the Best Congress Ever, we find we are running out of time – and we hope our latest flyer will give you all some idea of what the youth themselves have asked us to be sure to include!  It is indeed a crowded programme with never a dull moment – after all what’s the use of getting together if we cannot be happily together?

Please pass this on to all your own Association’s Membership and to sister Associations and Anjumans as well as relatives, friends, acquaintances.  We need to let the entire world’s Zoroastrian Youth realise what is about to happen Downunder in December 2007 and give them a chance to avail of being a part of this, the greatest event in the history of Zoroastrianism in Australia.  Learn more at the website, and in the 4th WZYC Event Flyer

We feel blessed to have been invited to host such an event and are looking forward to making our collective hopes into a reality!  With your constant support and encouragement, we will achieve the gold we have always been aiming for!

With Ahura Mazda’s blessings on all who chose to serve in His name,

Shirin J Mistry
Hon Secretary

Dear Association Presidents, FEZANA liaisons, and friends:

I am truly humbled and awed by the trust you have placed in me by electing me as the next FEZANA President. I sincerely thank you for your support. I will do my utmost to live up to your expectations.

While in Atlanta, my wife Yasmin and I visited the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site on Auburn Avenue, where until recently, generations of middle-class and well-to-do blacks had lived, prospered and died in segregated isolation. It reminded me of how our fellow-Zarathushtis had to endure discrimination in Gabr Mohallas in Iran. What sustained them through those difficult times was their unwavering faith in the goodness of Ahura Mazda.

Karan Bilimoria to House of Lords (UK)

The Trustees and the managing committee of the Zoroastrian Trust Funds of Europe are delighted to send heartiest congratulations to this outstanding son of our community – Karan Bilimoria –  on his elevation to the House of Lords.

We make this announcement with great pride and a prayer of gratitude to Ahura Mazda.

Karan becomes the first Zoroastrian in history to enter the House of Lords.

He follows the distinguished footsteps of the great Zoroastrians of yesteryear – Dadabhoy Naoroji, Sir Muncherjee Bhownaggarree and Comrade Shapurji Saklatvala who were the first MPs of Asian descent to sit in the House of Commons.

Karan has never been too busy to participate in the activities of our Anjuman. His kind and generous nature have always been to the fore in all his dealings with the community. Despite his high public profile, Karan has always made time for social and community work.

Every Zoroastrian will feel proud today at this well deserved recognition. We must also thank Her Majesty’s Government on their judicious and astute choice.

We send our heartiest congratulations to Karan and Heather and their young family and all our many friends at COBRA Beer.

Everyone at WZCC UK will particularly proud that our founder Chairman will now be able to represent the cause of Entrepreneurship at the highest level in the House of Lords.

May Ahura Mazda always bless Karan in his family, business and social life. We are sure The Best is Yet to Come.
