IZA – Jashne Sadeh

The Iranian Zoroastrian Association (IZA) will be celebrating the Zoroastrian/Iranian holiday of Sadeh on January 30, 2010 at Darbe Mehr in Pomona, New York.  Sadeh celebrates the discovery of fire and the start of human civilization. The program will start at 5:00pm and includes:

– Prayers by Mobed Noshir Hormozdiar

– Speech by Dr. Daryoosh Vakhshoori on “Making Tough Choices in Unfamiliar Settings: my personal experience with Risk and Reward”.  Dr. Vakshoori is “the Founder of Ahura Scientific Corp, Named Ernst & Young 2007 Entrepreneur of the Year, winner of GSN (Government Security News) Homeland Security Award, and many more honors…”

– Starting the Sadeh Fire
– Music by Shahrokh Vafah and dancing
– Traditional food and dessert

The admission price is $30 for members, $40 for non members with prior reservation and $50 without a reservation.  Children 2-12 are half price. Children under age 2 are free.   Limited supervision and early dinner will be provided to Children 2-12 years old.
