Recently I received a message from a New York area Zoroastrian, Danesh Kateli, who has been deployed to Iraq. He says, “I will definitely miss you all. Take care of yourselves and keep in touch”. He has sent his address:
Log Base Seitz
SFC Kateli, Danesh P
B 1/377 far, 18th csb
APO AE 09342
I also came to know that two other Zoroastrians from our area, Eric Chavda (email: MYTZeus@aol.com) and Jehangir Irani (email: Jehangir.irani@asab.centaf.af.mil) have been posted recently to that area as well. Additionally, Morris brothers (Kurush, Marzie and Bezan) have been on one or multiple tour of duties to Afghanistan and Iraq area in the recent years, and Mahyar Hodiwala is at present on a tour of duty in Germany.
I am sure that there are many other Zoroastrians serving in the military services in the United States of America. But what makes me proud is that from a very small community of NY area Zoroastrians, seven (7) of our finest young men are serving our country in Army, Navy, Marine and Air Force services. On behalf of our NY Zoroastrian community, I thank you all for your selfless contribution for keeping us safe. I request our community members to keep in touch with these young men and please also keep them in your daily prayers.
May Ahura Mazda keep you all safe and from harms way and bring you all back home safely. May Ahura Mazda bless you and your families and may Ahura Mazda bless America.
